it's 12:37 am. im tired. im cranky. i have to get up @6:15. yet, im sitting at my computer typing to YOU. i left a teaser on "loudboy's" blog of mom barking @ holly. let me 'splain...'
okay, so, sunday night, it was ma, pa, holly, alicia, and i all enjoying some nice conversation after the 'throng' had left. alicia was mildly petitioning to dad for a dog, but not with much success. meanwhile our dear dear mother was a 'hustle and bustle' in the kitchen. apparentally deciding that she wanted to add to the "K9 debate," she came in to voice her opinion, but in a most unusual way... "WOOF-WOOF!" it pierced like a comedian axe murder... funny but scary. ah, i still remember holly's face, (the rest of us were interestingly somewhat not surprised.) kind of a, "i shouldn't, but must laugh" look. the best however was mom's aftermath...laughing with us, yet, somewhat taken back at OUR reaction, as if we did not view this as a kosher conversation input to an interactions concerning a golden lab.
it gets better...
kneeling down in the usual moore family praying style (elbows on something of support, for future quick or assisted return to 'verticalcy' ((yes its a word, maybe)) with bums in the air like stink bugs), mom was elected to pray. it was a nice prayer, but as the natural man kicks in, the mind begins to wander...about 23 minutes into it, my ears perk up to hear..."and please bless holly and her preparing to take finals, and please bless gary and his finals....oh and please bless ryan in his life." this obviously perks and consciecifys (also possibly a word) those all around, and incites great giggles, even from holly. our dear mother, suddenly alert of giggling, and realizing that she is the only one speaking (narrowing down suspects) her voice wanders and wearys as she realizes that these 'snickerdoodles' must be for her. yet, still perserving, the 38th minute was finished with, "and please bless gary and holly that they will travel home in safety." wow. the laughter intensifys, including myself, until i take in the situation, maybe i shouldn't be laughing? our dear mother once again is perplexed, but carrys on until the clock strikes 12:00. this is when she promptly confronts us as to why the laughter. we informed our dear mother of her minor 'verbal typos' and we all had a good laugh...or bark.
